SONY\'s flexible e-paper uses printing technology to make TFT
Among the flexible e-papers released so far, SONY's 13.3-inch organic TFT driven product has received the most attention. The product has a monochrome display and uses e-paper from Taiwan's EInk Holdings. The pixel size is 2130×1596, the pixel size is 127μm×127μm, and the resolution is 200dpi. The opening rate was 82%.
The semiconductor layer of organic TFT is a self-developed organic material known as "PXX derivative" (peri-Xanthenoxanthene). Carrier mobility is about 0.5cm2/Vs.
The feature of the development product is that the organic TFT is produced using printing technology. For each layer of organic TFT, three printing techniques, flat offset printing, spin coating and slit coating, were respectively used. The surface protection film is formed by flat offset printing only. The photosensitive resin was formed by flat offset printing after the pixel electrode was formed by sputtering. After the organic semiconductor layer is formed by slit coating, gate insulation film and interlayer insulation film by spin coating, the pattern is formed by ordinary lithography.
