Smartwatches are not a new concept. MetaWatch, a foreign design company that launched a series of smartphones on the Android platform, announced in August that it would finally launch an iOS version of its product. MetaWatch's smartwatch can push notifications from weather, stock, calendar and phone apps. Music apps can be controlled remotely, and developers can create apps for the smartwatch to expand its capabilities.

      MetaWatch, which works by connecting to the iPhone via Bluetooth, has three models on the market: the Strata Sport ($179), the Classic Frame ($199), and the Limited Edition ($299). According to AppleInsider, which tested the Frame, the watch currently only supports the iPhone 4S and iPhone 5, which support low power Bluetooth.

      According to MetaWatch, the smartwatch can be paired with an iPhone App of the same name, which is available for free on the App Store, to provide richer functionality. AppleInsider showed us the Frame interface and options on the iPhone, and it looks like it's perfect for tech gadget enthusiasts. Unfortunately, it's unclear whether MetaWatch's smartwatches will support Chinese.
