Eink unveiled a new Spectra e-paper display in May. Eink adds a third color to the previously gray-scale e-paper display. So the Spectra screen comes in black, white, and red and displays them on the surface of the e-paper. Eink also said it will develop other colors in the future, with foreign media reporting that blue and green are also in production.

      For now, Spectra will apply primarily to electronic guided signs such as electronic shelf labels. Eink, which was interviewed by foreign media at SID Display Week, said it would not be using the technology for e-books for the time being. The Spectra panel will be available to retail customers beginning in the third quarter of this year.
